My name is Erica Iyamu-Osagie and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing psychotherapy for over 12 years with child, adolescent and adult populations in various mental health settings including residential, inpatient and individual & group OP settings. I attended the University of Connecticut where I obtained my bachelor’s degree, which led me to the University of Connecticut School of Social Work where I obtained a MSW degree specializing in social work policy and international social work. I have a unique interest in providing individual and group supportive & psychotherapy for older adolescent, collegiate and adult populations who may struggle with depression, trauma, PTSD, internalized and somatic disorders, substance use, transitional issues and other challenges. I possess a heightened respect for cultural relativism and believe that a person's culture sets their foundation. I am highly skilled in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care (TIC), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Process/Psychodynamic Therapy and anger management. I am thrilled to join Andrea Quick Counseling & Mediation and I hope to assist people in strengthening their emotional health by encouraging them to become the best version of themselves.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Connecticut. I received my BSW from NYU and my MSW from Columbia University in Manhattan. I have worked with clients of all ages with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, ADHD, behavioral issues, and eating disorders. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse whom started to exhibit PTSD symptoms. I am very warm and approachable. I want everyone who I work with to feel at ease speaking with me. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I do not believe in shaming anyone’s beliefs nor labeling anyone. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing counseling. I will of course tailor the treatment plan continuously as you evolve in order to meet your specific needs.
